Romantic black-tie wedding ceremony at The Maine of Williamsburg with spring florals and custom attire

When a couple flies across the pond to celebrate their wedding with family and friends in Virginia, you know it’s going to be something special. Caitlin and George’s day at The Maine of Williamsburg was the perfect mix of earthy romance and formal black-tie elegance, infused with personal touches that nodded to their life together in London.

This wedding had it all—couture fashion, custom details, a wildly fun guest list, and meaningful moments that made it one of my most memorable weddings to date.

A Custom Gown Fit for a London Bride

Caitlin wore a stunning couture gown from @mirrormirrorbridalcouture in London, with final alterations done by @cherryblossomcouture. Her custom veil from @kimalphabridal completed the look, and she brought it all stateside for her bridal portraits with me 10 days before the wedding, which I’ll link in a separate post soon.

George wore a sleek tuxedo from @mossbros, and the entire wedding party matched the upscale yet natural aesthetic of the venue.

London Meets Virginia

One of the most unique things about this wedding was how Caitlin and George brought a bit of London charm to Williamsburg. A green British mailbox stood near the gift table for cards, and instead of a sparkler sendoff, guests waved custom tea towels—a British tradition that doubled as their wedding favors.

They leaned into the charm of the venue at The Maine of Williamsburg, which felt like the perfect backdrop to blend their romantic countryside vibes with the formality of a destination wedding.

A First Look to Remember

You know it’s going to be a good day when the groom’s first look is actually… one of the groomsmen in a thrifted wedding gown. That prank first look had everyone in stitches—and made the real first look at the altar even sweeter.

Dance Floor Energy + Documentary Moments

After a heartfelt ceremony, the night turned up. The dance floor was packed, the energy was electric, and their guests (many of whom had traveled from the UK) knew how to party. I made a point to document not just the couple, but the people they love—those who flew across the world to be part of their day. That’s what makes this job so meaningful.

Vendor Dream Team

The day came together beautifully thanks to an incredible team:
